Miracles Happen

It is in our moments of weakness that God shows us His strength.
It is in our darkest hour that God reveals to us His light.
It is in our heartache that God comforts us with His love.
And it is in our suffering that God reminds us of the miracles in this world.

Eleven years ago my dad was diagnosed
with cancer. The doctors told him that the chances
of him living to be 40 were only 10%.
This February my dad is turning 50.
I can honestly tell you that miracles DO happen.

As I look back I realize that it was in the most difficult times
that God showed us His strength, His love and His hope.
I truly believe it is only by the grace of God
that my dad, my hero, is still with us today.

Each day is filled with many beautiful
miracles from a God who loves us.
Remember this the next time life gets hard
and the suffering is all that you can see.

" Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly we are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving
for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what
is unseen. For what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

  1. There is nothing more beautiful to read than a daughter calling her dad a hero.
Your words and your story of faith through all those years are a testiment to who you are and how you were raised.
I believe in my heart that your dad is with us now, and will be for a long time because of you and your family's committment to God through all the good and difficult times. It's easy to walk the walk when all is well, but to watch all of you continue to praise Him even in the darkest hours only shows all of us God's power and the power of prayer.
I can remember when your dad was first diagnosed and you and I were sitting on the front step of Uncle Rolf's house. You were so worried that you wouldn't have money for food, and almost instantly you said, "but God will provide".
We always knew that if there was anyone in the family that was going to show so many through her walk, the power of God, it was going to be you.
We are honoured and proud to have you as our niece, and humbled by the strength you have in Him at all times.
Stay close, and stay strong, and to see the pictures of you and your dad, well, lets just say that those pictures say more than words ever could. We love you so very much.
